Welcome to the Alabama Mayflower Society

The Alabama Society of Mayflower Descendants is a diverse group of individuals bound together by a proven ancestor who was one of the 51 Mayflower passengers with known descendants. Our society was founded in 1952 to commemorate the spirit of these brave people who showed such strength in times of adversity. By signing the Mayflower Compact, our ancestors created a self-governing community founded upon democratic principles.

We work alongside the General Society of Mayflower Descendants to promote the memory of our Mayflower ancestors, defend civil and religious liberty, and preserve historical items and places. Our mission is also to record the detailed ancestry of the original passengers and the genealogy of their descendants.

If you are interested in finding out if you are one of the estimated 35 million descendants of the Mayflower passengers, we invite you to begin your journey with us. Thank you for your interest and we wish you great success in the genealogical search for your Mayflower ancestor!
